When I too this course, I had to really think about why I write and even blog. At first, I didn’t want to blog, but friends and family convinced me to and I was hooked right away. I sometimes have to write papers for school. I write in order to express myself and write to deal with stresses of everyday life. Writing to me is like freedom and is a way of showing my personality

For what it’s worth I think the only way to improve your writing is… by writing! And in parallel, by reading. Although it does matter what you read. 🙂 If you want to be a tabloid journalist, read tabloids, if you want to write romance, read Mills&Boon, and if you’re going to write the defining novel of the United Staes in the 21st century, read Tolstoy’s War & Peace!

Hey thank you for reading and taking the time to reply! Very true on the improving writing by writing point. I do read all the time and have quite a varied taste (from classics to sci-fi to Japanese literature and so on) however bizarrely I never write fiction and rarely read non-fiction!
